May 21, 2026: “Business” As Usual

Today was much the same as yesterday: The chicks continue to be well fed by both parents, with the menu continuing to be mostly lizards. The chicks have not yet peeked out to view life outside their nest box.

The chicks either don’t know what to do with a whole lizard yet, can’t yet process yet it without assistance, or aren’t hungry.
The Mother Kestrel is still helping with feeding.
This video shows a good view of the male chick’s tail features (a wide black bar with white tip), compared to his sisters’ tails that have multiple black bars. Dad Kestrel stops by briefly.
The Kestrel chicks are starting to jump up — will they peek out soon?!
