The Kestrel chicks are looking upwards toward the nest box opening more, and achieving new heights when they jump up to snatch food when a parent delivers prey. When do you think they’ll start to peek out of the box?; Please place your guess in the comments!
Also, it’s now definitely possible to know the sex of the chicks based on their coloration. I will post a gender reveal after I’ve received some guesses.
In the late afternoon today the chicks were fed whole mice, and were able to process it on their own. Let’s hope their food had not been poisoned by rodenticide! For more information about the dangers of rodenticides, check out Raptors Are The Solution (RATS).
